Balranald Hire services customers in the Balranald & Surrounds area in South West NSW. While the business is comparatively young it has quickly built up a loyal following of locals who use its equipment and services. In particular, local trades, farmers and corporates who find the convenience of doing business with a local business that meets their needs.
One of the things that customers say about the business is the ease of doing business… most things are possible!
"Can I pick up the digger the night before?" Yes.
"Can I drop the machine off on my way past?" Yes.
"Can I be out to pick up the temporary fencing in an hour?" Yes.
Most things are easy… some things are hard but generally they are able to be done. We are a local Balranald business and as such we are here to specifically service our local and regional community.
About Iain Field
Iain Field is the owner and proprietor of Balranald Hire. He is an accountant by training and was a Chartered Accountant for 30 years. He lives at Lake Paika Station from where Balranald Hire is operated. Ably assisted by loyal staff, Iain runs the business to meet and surpass customer needs. Iain is a keen and busy volunteer for his community. He was the Treasurer of Balranald Inc., a local progressive group, from 2014 to 2020 and is currently the Public Officer. He is the current Chair of the Growing Business, Industry and Tourism Advisory Committee to Balranald Shire Council and prior to that he was the Chair of the Shire Tourism Committee for four years.
Iain volunteered on the Five Rivers Outback Festival for number of years, but importantly put up his hand, with a couple of others, to help out when the festival looked like folding. The Festival is now in a much better place and has been extremely successful albeit the interruption of 2020 covid lock-downs. Iain is the Marketing and Media Officer for Outback Beds, a grouping of outback stays across NSW and Southern Queensland. He is a member of the Homebush RFS.
